With Law No. 2022-1158 of August 16, 2022 on emergency measures for the protection of purchasing power, it is possible to terminate your contract online “in three clicks”.

Canceling your auto contract, home insurance, health or provident insurance online can become easier.
To terminate your contract in just three clicks, on your insurance website:
– Click on “cancel your contract”.
– The opening of a new page where the insured must provide information concerning him and validate it, allowing him to be identified and to formulate his request for termination of a contract
– Finally, display of a summary page, from which he notifies his termination or denunciation.
Decree ¶
On March 17, the Government published the implementing decree for Article 17 of Law No. 2022-1158 of August 16, 2022 on emergency measures for the protection of purchasing power.
As part of the action in favor of purchasing power and consumer protection, it includes the so-called “three-click termination” provision for insurance contracts and “provides that a contract must be capable of being terminated electronically, when on the day of termination the professional offers the consumer the possibility of concluding contracts electronically. »
The online termination process must be as easy to use as possible, with a dedicated feature.
This measure will make it easier to change insurers, promote competition and help limit the cost of insurance.

A second decree will make it possible to extend it to many other services in the coming weeks, in application of the purchasing power law of 2022.
