“Money or Life” by Nikolaus Braun is a 250-page book that invites you to think about money and its effect on our lives. In addition to 30 short stories, it also includes some theoretical essays related to money on topics such as success, wealth, fear and fraud as well as men, luxury and time.
While the essays, as brief explanations on the topics mentioned, usually contain a lot of exciting information, valuable perspectives and strong impulses, readers are more likely to be left alone with the 30 stories. Because, as Nikolaus Braun already announced in the foreword to the book “Money or Life”, there are neither analyzes nor comments on it.
While some stories complement the theoretical essays on the topics of the different facets of money and also make you think, many stories leave the reader – at least from my point of view – rather perplexed. A few brief impulses or questions to reflect on the stories would certainly be helpful for some.
Accordingly, the book “Money or Life” by Nikolaus Braun will certainly please some people very much, but I suspect others will not like it as much. Nevertheless, it contains many exciting perspectives on the subject of money that should be valuable for everyone. – Therefore, I can definitely recommend the book in the field of finance!
