Fire Breaks Out at Ekalokasari Mall in Bogor City, West Java.

The fire occurred at Ekalokasari Mall on Jl Pajajaran, Sukasari, Bogor City, West Java. Visitors and shop employees panicked and ran out of the mall.

monitoring detikcom At the location, Sunday (4/6/2023) at 10.59 WIB, a number of employees and visitors were seen crowding outside the Ekalokasari Mall which was on fire. All store employees and visitors were evacuated by mall officials.

Some people also seemed busy taking out the car units that were being exhibited in the mall. Firefighters from Bogor City and Regency headed to the fire point to put out the fire.

“The incident earlier was around 20.30 WIB, yes, I was on the UG floor, at work, guarding a clothing store. Suddenly many people screamed fire, then the smoke was thick from the top floor to the bottom floor,” said one of the clothing shop keepers at the mall. Ekalokasari Rizal was met at the fire location, Sunday (4/6/2023).

Rizal said visitors and employees had scattered when smoke began to fill every floor. While several other employees tried to put out the fire.

“Yes, everyone ran, visitors, shop employees, all ran in a hurry to get out, panicked, shouted, I also panicked, immediately closed the shop, immediately left,” said Rizal.

Public Relations of Mal Ekalokasari Taufan Muhamad Taufan said the hotspot that panicked employees and visitors was in a warehouse room on the 3M floor.

“This incident occurred at around 20.20 WIB. At first it was known that there was a cloud of smoke. Then, the security team immediately checked and looked for hotspots. You can see that the position is in the warehouse, on the 3M floor, so it is separated from the floors of the shops,” said Taufan.

“It was handled immediately by the fire extinguisher, but to make sure we called the fire department, worried that there was still a fire, but the condition was conducive,” he added.
