During the night from Friday to Saturday, around 2 a.m., a municipal police car, with four officers on board, was patrolling around Place Saint-Louis, in downtown Metz. About forty people, who had probably just celebrated the possible rise of FC Metz in Ligue 1 but clearly upset by the passage of police officers, came to meet the crew of the police. A member of the procession, more virulent than the others, slightly damaged the vehicle at the level of the bodywork and the windshield.
Faced with the gathered crowd, the municipal police preferred to continue on their way and wait for the individual, more agitated than the others and suspected of the damage, to move away from the group.
