Dominican Ambassador in Vietnam Defends Safety and Validity of Vietnamese Pig Vaccine against African Swine Fever (ASF)

The Dominican ambassador in Vietnam Jaime Francisco Rodríguez called on the senators and especially the legislator Bautista Rojas Gómez not to politicize the vaccine vietnamese against African pig fish (PPA)

He assured that the NAVET-ASFVAC vaccine, produced by Vietnamese and American scientists, is validated and certified, and that it is completely safe.

He also said that he has sanitary authorization for its circulation and application, with certification and validation, including from the Department of Agriculture and the Agricultural Research Service of the United States of America and from prestigious national and international institutions.

He affirms that “the vaccine does not spread ASF, nor is it a new strain, quite the contrary, it contributes to eradicate ASFby creating the antibodies” pointed out the diplomat.

He also stated that the NAVET-ASFVAC vaccine has considerable evidence of its effectiveness in more than 93%, unique in the world.

The Dominican ambassador in Vietnam called for common sense, objectivity and respect for science and revealed that in the coming days he will meet with the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, to whom he will “formally deliver documentation on the aforementioned vaccine.”

The senator for the Hermanas Mirabal province, Rojas Gómez said that the pig vaccine is being used in the country without being approved by the World Health Organization (WHO), and not have the approval of the management of livestock.

“With all due respect, Senator, it is false that we are creating businesses or favoring particular interests, as you refer to with your insinuations about business with the vaccine, a disservice is done to the country, encouraging unions and institutions to ignore scientific work, validity, and efficacy. of this vaccine, as well as the great gesture of the Vietnamese people towards our people”, the diplomat pointed out.

Rodríguez assured that the vaccines have reached the Dominican Republic from an important and effective process of management and cooperation between the government of Vietnam and the United States, the Dominican government and the Department of agriculture.

Through a document, the ambassador to Vietnam concluded by calling on stakeholders, universities, technicians, specialists and those who consider themselves to be part of the process to join the process, vaccination and training.
