And Russian narratives find fertile ground in Slovakia: only 40% of Slovaks believe that Russia is primarily responsible for the war in Ukraine, according to a recent poll by think tank GLOBSEC – compared to, for example, 85% in Poland.
Slovakia is going through “a very difficult period,” the president said, adding: “I see not only polarization, but also fragmentation in our society.”
Help Slovakia
Last year, Slovakia handed over the C-300 air defense system to Ukraine. Then it was confirmed by the Prime Minister of Slovakia Eduard Heger. Recently, the Minister of Defense of Slovakia, Martin Sklenar, said that this complex is still fulfilling its tasks in Ukraine.
In April, it became known that Slovakia had completed the transfer of MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine. All the promised 13 aircraft are already in Ukraine.
In addition, the head of the Slovak Foreign Ministry, Miroslav Vlahovsky, said that the country’s position in relation to Ukraine after the arrival of the new government does not change. Slovakia will continue to provide support and assistance.
