Jakarta –
Liga 1 2023/2024 it was decided to be closed to fans of the away team. The stadium will only be filled by home team fans.
This news comes from a letter New Indonesian League PT (LIB), regarding the 2023/2024 Asian Champions League play-off match against Bali United and PSM Makassar. In the letter numbered 225/LIB-COR/VI/2023, dated 2 June 2023, it was stated that all Indonesian football matches could not be attended by visiting team spectators.
“In terms of the transition period for the transformation of national football, all national football matches, including competitions and play-offs, cannot be attended by visiting club supporters,” the letter said.
PSSI through a member of the Executive Committee (Exco) Arya Sinulingga also answered this. He confirmed that this was a mutual agreement.
“One of the processes is in transition and what was agreed upon was also agreed upon by the PSSI and also agreed upon by the police. So, in stages, yes, this is indeed an agreement that has been taken with the police as well,” said Arya in a journalist forum.
“And we hope that with these steps all parties, both PSSI, clubs, supporters, league (PT LIB), friends of the police, all of this can be (accepted) well,” he added.
Arya continued, this situation is expected not to occur throughout the season. His party will try to get permission for the presence of the visiting team’s fans to come to the stadium.
“Hopefully we can all organize matches well. In the future, there will gradually start to be spectators from the teams who come, but for now, that’s the decision,” he said.
The Asian Champions League play-off match will be played over two legs on June 6 and 10. Meanwhile, League 1 2023/2024 will kick off starting July 1.
