Archbishop Vanags’ controversial views on Latvia’s first openly gay president

Archbishop Jānis Vanags of the poor Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church has found himself in real trouble – on the one hand, he wants to “make friends” with the state authorities, including the newly elected state president Edgars Rinkēvičs, on the other hand, the new president is an open gay, which from J. Vanag’s understanding of God’s principles point of view is absolutely not supportable.
