Kiev undertook not to strike the territory of the Russian Federation with military equipment handed over to it by partners
The Iskander missile systems located in Russia cannot be attacked by Ukraine with Western weapons.
Kiev undertook not to strike the territory of the Russian Federation with military equipment handed over to it by partners, writes OBOZREVATEL.
“We do not attack targets on the territory of Russia. As the state leadership says, there is a strategy – we promised our partners not to attack with weapons provided to us,” said Yuriy Ignat, spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
However, if the enemy launches missiles from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, our soldiers will be able to use all available weapons.
According to Ignat, the Russians use a limited number of Iskander missiles due to their shortage. Otherwise, they’d release hundreds of them, but they’re usually limited to about a dozen.
“They are in short supply. If they didn’t spare them, they would use hundreds of them,” the military said.
As is known, the Russian Iskander missile system (including Iskander, Iskander-M, Iskander-K, Iskander-E types) can be a means of delivering a tactical nuclear weapon.
Its main purpose is to destroy the enemy’s most important targets, including air and missile defense systems, at a distance of up to 500 km.
The complex includes six types of machines. These are a self-propelled launcher, a transport and loading machine, a command and control machine, an adjustment and maintenance machine, an information preparation point, a life support machine, a set of arsenal equipment and training equipment.
Earlier, Ignat said that with the help of “Iskanderi”, Russian terrorists are trying to strike Kiev unexpectedly. The enemy uses this type of weapon so that civilians have minimal time to react to an air raid signal.
The last attack against Ukraine with the help of “Iskander” was carried out on the night of June 1. The goal of the invaders was Kyiv. Ukrainian anti-missile and anti-aircraft defenses shot down all ten enemy missiles: seven Iskander-M ballistic missiles and three Iskander-K cruise missiles, but falling debris caused destruction.
A 9-year-old girl, her 34-year-old mother, and a 33-year-old woman died. Another 12 people were injured, Ignat said.
