The Board of Directors of the Cuna de Acordeones Foundation, which takes place every year in Villanueva, La Guajira, announced that for the 45th version of this festival the honorees will be the composer Gustavo Gutiérrez Cabello and the teacher Andrés ‘El turco’ Gil.
“The President of the Fundación Cuna de Acordeones Dr Raúl Hernández Maestre in the company of the Municipal Mayor of Villanueva, Carlos Alberto Barros Mattos, they conveyed the decision to the honorees who expressed their satisfaction and acceptance”, says the document issued by the organizers of the flagship Festival of this part of the neighboring department.
With this heartfelt tribute in life, the Cuna de Acordeones Festival wants to exalt the life and work of these characters, who have contributed so much to Vallenato music.
This great event will take place from September 21 to 24 of this year.
