Irish rugby star Joey Carbery has celebrated his marriage to marketing graduate Robyn Flanagan in Marbella, Spain, with a host of well-known names from the sport. While the couple were married in Dublin on 9 May, they waited until 1 June to stage their second wedding celebration, which included guests such as Tadhg Beirne and his spouse Harriet, Jeremy Loughman, and Rory Scannell and his fiancée Aisling Colwell. Joey, a fly-half with Munster, had proposed to Robyn during a trip to New York in January, following a six-year relationship. Joey had previously played for Leinster.
Robyn shared snaps of their official ceremony in Dublin on social media, with the caption “A dream day. Special and intimate. So looking forward to celebrating with our friends and family soon”. Joey also posted about the wedding, commenting “Step one: complete”.
The couple and their guests enjoyed two days of celebrations, with the first taking place in Cádiz and the second in Marbella. According to Robyn’s sibling, Ben, the couple prepared for their second wedding “in style”.
The wedding celebrations coincide with the impending marriage of Joey’s teammate Conor Murray to fiancée Joanna Cooper. Meanwhile, guests at Joey and Robyn’s Spanish wedding are heading for Portugal, where Craig Casey, captain Peter O’Mahony, RG Snyman, Dave Kilcoyne, and their respective partners are set to attend Conor and Joanna’s wedding.
