Palais Rohan burnt door replaced with temporary one, investigation ongoing

Work to replace the burnt door of the Palais Rohan began on Thursday 1 June. The old door, deemed too fragile and unrecoverable, has been removed and a temporary door will replace it until the final replacement.

The burned gate of the Bordeaux City Hall, completely dismantled on Thursday, must be replaced this Friday by a temporary door, stronger and safer. The old door will be entrusted to a restoration company, responsible for carrying out “additional investigations”, according to the press release from the Town Hall of Bordeaux. The entire operation should cost €500,000 excluding taxes.
