Yes, because sugar is, without exaggeration, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. A product that causes such harm to the body. which is hard to compare. The worst thing is that sugar is everywhere. Even if you do not put it in tea or coffee, sugar will catch up with you in bread, and in sausages, and in mayonnaise, and in tomato sauce, and in processed cheeses and semi-finished products! Not to mention all the confectionery.

“Sugar is death for blood vessels,” endocrinologists say. – With an increased sugar content in the body, the cardiovascular system, brain cells suffer, kidneys are damaged. Metabolism is disturbed. Vision may also fall, muscle and skin diseases may appear.

Excessive consumption of sweets is almost a sure way to develop diabetes.

“The risk of diabetes increases with a waist circumference in men over 102 cm, in women over 88 cm,” endocrinologists say. – So the wasp waist is not only a tribute to fashion, but also a sure way to protect yourself from a dangerous disease. This factor, fortunately, can be neutralized if a person, aware of the full extent of the danger, fights overweight and wins this fight!

Sugar is especially harmful for women, and not only because it contributes to gaining excess body weight.

As endocrinologists have found out, sugar can indirectly lead to female infertility in the presence of two factors, one of which is the development of endometriosis. According to scientists, this disease, accompanied by the growth of the inner lining of the uterus, develops, in particular, due to excessive consumption of sweets. Also, this disease is considered one of the most serious factors that leads to female infertility.

Sugar is also the enemy of good skin and strong bones. A large amount of sugar in sweet foods disrupts the synthesis of collagen, a protein necessary for cartilage elasticity, ligament elasticity and bone strength.

“If you don’t want early wrinkles, don’t eat a lot of sweets,” doctors say. And don’t sing! Because sugar, which is contained, including in alcohol in large quantities, destroys collagen, a protein responsible for skin elasticity. Because of this, the skin descends, primarily on the eyelids, and the pores on the face also increase. Another consequence of excessive consumption of sugar is an earthy complexion. This happens due to a slowdown in the process of cell renewal – the skin becomes dull and lifeless.

Alas, by provoking an abundant release of dopamine in the brain, sugar, like drugs, can be addictive. Therefore, for many, the question is extremely relevant – what can replace sugar?

Experts recommend paying attention to stevia, the extract of which is 300 times sweeter than sugar.

-And the most important thing! – its calorie content is zero. Stevia is not involved in the carbohydrate metabolism of the body at all and has no restrictions for use. It is heat-resistant – that is, it will not collapse during cooking and will not worsen the taste of the dish, – writes the famous endocrinologist Dr. Pavlova. — There are many people among my acquaintances who have completely switched to stevia, cook both cheesecakes and cakes with it, in general, wherever sweetness is needed.

The second good sugar substitute is erythrol. It is suitable for those to whom stevia will be a little bitter. Erytrol is not as sweet, but can completely replace sugar. And, unlike stevia, it has few calories – about 20 per 100 grams.

Stevia and erythrol have two more bonuses: they do not cause cavities and do not cause bloating, like sugar and other substitutes.

WHO recommends limiting the intake of sugars: no more than 10% of the daily caloric intake. If the daily norm is 2000 kcal, then sugar should account for no more than 200 kcal, that is, no more than 50 grams of sugar (about 2 cups of juice or one and a half marshmallows). If the norm is 1500 kcal, then no more than 150 kcal for sugar or 37.5 in grams.

This is not only about pure sugar, but also about what is found in chocolate, desserts, yogurt and other products where its presence is not so obvious. We must remember that the danger in the form of sugar lurks everywhere!
