Ekaterina Alexandrova became the eighth Russian tennis player to reach the 1/16 finals of Roland Garros, the Grand Slam clay tournament in Paris.
In the second round, the Russian, the 23rd racket of the world, defeated the German Anna-Lena Friedsam (91) with a score of 6:2, 6:0.
For reaching the 1/8 finals, Alexandrova will play with the Brazilian Beatriz Addad Maya, who knocked out the Russian Diana Schneider from the tournament.
