Tupac Shakur Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame 27 Years After Death

“Tupac Shakur was a rapper, actor, activist, poet and revolutionary. This iconic artist is still part of the zeitgeist decades after his passing and will remain an important cultural figure for many years to come,” said Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez.

Radio presenter Big Boy acts as master of ceremonies. Shakur’s friends and family, including his sister, will also be there. Allen Hughes is one of the speakers at the event. The director made Dear Mamaa documentary series about the rapper and his mother Afeni.

The rapper, also known as 2Pac, is regarded by many as one of the greatest rappers of all time. Changes in California Love are among his most famous songs.

Shakur was shot on September 7, 1996 while sitting in the car. He died in hospital six days later. The artist was then 25 years old. The perpetrators were never found.
