The European Parliament voted for the resolution on Hungary

The European Parliament regularly accepts positions critical of Hungary: we are used to this from them, especially since 2019, when the EP took a strongly left-liberal line, this has become an even more common practice

– Bence Ákos Gát, researcher at the European Strategy Research Institute of the NKE Eötvös József Research Center, head of external relations at the Danube Institute, drew attention to the inquiry of the Hungarian Nation about the EP resolution attacking Hungary’s successive EU presidency.

Five of the seven factions of the European Parliament, the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats) (EPP), the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D), Renew Europe, the Greens/European Free Alliance (Greens(EFA)) and the Left ( GUE/NGL) submitted a resolution calling on the European Council to use its right to sanction provided by the EU treaties to deprive Hungary of the possibility of rotating EU presidency.
