Kim Cattrall reprises Sex and the City role in And Just Like That: Shock return in sequel series

Actress Kim Cattrall is set to reprise her iconic role as Samantha Jones in the follow-up series to the hit show “Sex and the City.” The series, titled “And Just Like That,” will be streaming on HBO Max and will follow the lives of the three remaining lead characters: Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes, and Charlotte York.

However, there’s a catch. According to reports, Cattrall will only be making a cameo appearance in one scene of the series. This is a disappointment for fans who had hoped to see more of the beloved character, but it also comes as no surprise given the public feud between Cattrall and the show’s other stars, particularly Sarah Jessica Parker.

The feud between Parker and Cattrall has been well-documented in the media, with Cattrall at one point calling her former co-star “cruel.” The tension reportedly began during the filming of the show’s six-season run, with Cattrall feeling that she was being given less attention and recognition compared to Parker.

Despite the well-publicized drama, fans are still excited to see the return of “Sex and the City” and the beloved characters who made the show a cultural phenomenon. It remains to be seen how Cattrall’s limited appearance in the new series will be received by fans and critics alike.

“And Just Like That” will also introduce a new supporting cast of characters, with actress Sara Ramirez set to join the show in a major role. Ramirez is best known for her roles in “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Madam Secretary.”

The new series is being produced by the original show’s creator, Darren Star, and will be written by Michael Patrick King, who also wrote for the original series. Production on the series began in July 2021, and it is set to debut on HBO Max later this year.

The original “Sex and the City” series aired from 1998 to 2004 and became a cultural touchstone for its frank exploration of women’s sexuality and relationships. It spawned two feature films, released in 2008 and 2010, but a third film was ultimately cancelled due to reported salary disputes between the cast members.

Despite the drama surrounding the new series and Cattrall’s limited appearance, fans of the original show are eagerly anticipating “And Just Like That” and can’t wait to see what new adventures await their favorite characters.
