The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation (PGN) reported that during the month of May, 154 unaccompanied migrant children and adolescents transiting through Mexican territory returned by land to the border of the city of Tecún Umán, Ayutla, San Marcos.
The minors were intercepted by the authorities in the Aztec territory, and sent to Guatemala. The PGN authorities admitted them to a specialized shelter for their protection while they were reintegrated into their family nucleus. They all went in search of the “American dream”.

According to the PGN registry, this Wednesday, May 31, 41 unaccompanied migrant children and adolescents returned by land, 14 were women and 27 men.
On May 23, 49 children and adolescents were returned from Mexican territory. On the 10th of the same month, 34 unaccompanied children and adolescents entered Guatemalan territory.
On May 4 of this year, the PGN multidisciplinary team received 30 unaccompanied migrant children and adolescents at the border with Mexico.
