“Indonesian Government Promotes Electric Vehicle Market Potential to China”

Representatives of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment introduced Indonesia’s market potential in the industry electric vehicle to a number of countries. One of them is China.

Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination Rachmat Kaimuddin said one of his visits to China included visiting an automotive factory. During the visit, the government certainly promoted the potential of electric vehicles in the Indonesian market.

“So, we discussed visits to several automotive factories, they already know about the potential of the Indonesian market,” said Rachmat in a media briefing at the Sari Pan Pacific Hotel, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (31/5/2023).

The Indonesian government also hopes that there will be an agreement or more benefits from the cooperation that has been established, one of which is with Wuling.

“From China, have we got the benefits? Wuling already, can it be more? That’s our goal,” he said.

According to Rahmat, China has welcomed the government’s desire to encourage the electric vehicle industry. While there is a cooperation agreement with the Chinese electric car manufacturer, Build Your Dream (BYD), Rahmat has not been able to explain in detail.

“The issue of the release with the BYD MoU was due to a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA), so I’m conveying it here. Let’s just pray,” he explained.
