“Deepening Tax Revenue Slump: National Tax Collected 9.9 Trillion Won Less in April Alone”

Due to the bad economy, the national economy is also in an emergency.

In the first four months of this year, it was calculated that the national tax was 34 trillion won less than last year.

It reaches 10 trillion won, the largest ever in the month of April alone.

The slump in national tax revenues has intensified due to deteriorating corporate performance and sluggish real estate transactions following sluggish exports.

In April, the amount of national tax collected, which was less than a year ago, reached 9.9 trillion won, including 9 trillion won in corporate tax, breaking the highest monthly record.

As a result, the national tax collected through April this year was 134 trillion won, 33.9 trillion won less than the same point last year.

It gave more than 20%, which is also the largest ever.

Of the expected tax revenue of 4.5 trillion won, the rate of progress, which is the percentage of taxes actually collected, was 33.5%, the lowest since 2000 when the government held related figures.

By tax category, corporate tax fell by more than 30%, or KRW 15.8 trillion.

Income tax also decreased by 8.9 trillion won, and the reduction in capital gains tax related to real estate reached 7.2 trillion won.

Value added tax decreased by 3.8 trillion won.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choo Kyung-ho said tax revenues could get a little worse.

However, he emphasized that he was not reviewing the supplementary budget, and that he would somehow implement it within the budget passed by the National Assembly without paying more debt in a situation where deficit government bonds of about 60 trillion won are issued this year.

Even if the same amount of tax as last year is collected by the end of the year, this year’s tax revenue is 38.5 trillion won less.

The government said that it is too early to mention the total deficit as tax revenues are volatile for the whole year, and that it will release the results of the re-estimate in August or September.
