The control will be valid from July 7 at 8 a.m. to July 13 at 8 a.m.
Border control for passengers going to or coming from Schengen countries will also apply at Lithuanian airports and ports.
The NATO summit in Vilnius will take place on July 11 and 12.
The Lithuanian armed forces plan to deploy more than 3,000 soldiers to guarantee security during the summit. Together with the allies, they will ensure airspace protection, check the accommodation and means of transport of the summit participants, protect critical objects, routes and persons.
Germany will deploy the long-range Patriot air defense system in Lithuania to help guarantee the safety of NATO leaders in Vilnius.
“Patriot” units will be transferred from Slovakia and their support elements will be supplied from Poland.
