“Justine Trier Makes History as Third Female Director to Win Cannes’ Palme d’Or”

Follow-up: Nazik Issa

France’s Justine Trier won the Palme d’Or for her film “Anatomy of a Fall”, becoming the third female director to receive this highest award in the history of the Cannes Film Festival.
The director expressed her great happiness with this coronation after receiving the award, and at the same time criticized the government policy of her country, which, according to her expression, breaks the French “cultural exception.”
The film talks about the story of a writer named Sandra, who lives in a mountainous area isolated from the world alongside her husband, a university professor, and their 11-year-old son. Her life will take a complicated course with the death of her husband in an accident that surrounds her with doubts.
The jury also awarded the best acting performance award to the Japanese Koji Yakusho and the Turkish Merve Dizdar, at the conclusion of the seventy-sixth session of the international film event.
