New testimonies surfaced in the harassment case involving the legend of Seville and Barcelona, Dani Alves, and caused him to be imprisoned throughout the second half of the current season.
Brazilian international right-back Dani Alves was arrested upon his return from the 2022 World Cup, where he was charged with sexual assault in mid-January, now spending more than 100 days imprisoned in Barcelona.
The Alves case continues to move forward with the announcement of new notes about his latest alleged victim, about her encounter with him on ‘En Boca de Todos’ to which she told about her experience with Alves at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona, Catalonia, where the alleged incident took place.
The presiding judge denied Dani Alves bail twice in this case, although he still hopes for provisional release within the next few weeks, but his request is at risk of being denied after new testimonies have emerged.
The victim said: “Alves came to me and said, ‘Don’t you know who I am?’
She added, “I started getting really scared and thinking, what if he put something in my drink, what if he did something to my friend I thought of everything in a very short time.”
Alves insisted that the meeting was consensual, and maintained his innocence of the matter. Nevertheless, he will remain imprisoned for the time being, and until now, the date of the trial has not been announced to know the new time he will spend in prison.
