Al-Ahly Jeddah Suspends Player Registration Ban Amid Legal Battle Over Former Team Member

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Saudi club Al-Ahly Jeddah announced, on Tuesday, that it had stopped the decision to prevent the club from registering players for two regular periods, until a final decision is issued regarding the case of former team player Louis Grabban.

And the Saudi club issued a statement, via Twitter, in which it said: “A decision was issued by the Dispute Resolution Chamber of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) in Case No. 8332 FPSD in favor of the player Louis Grabban, and the judge decided to pay the total amount of one million two hundred thousand US dollars, and a sports penalty to stop the club from Registration for two regular periods.

And Al-Ahly Jeddah Club added: “Therefore, the legal department, in coordination with a number of international offices with legal expertise, filed an appeal before the Court of Arbitration (CAS), and the case was registered under the number CAS2023/A/9553, and as a result, the club’s defenses were submitted in this regard to try to cancel the decision.” In accordance with the legal justifications that were determined in light of the strategy of the Defense Authority.

And he continued: “And accordingly, the club was informed today in the afternoon of the issuance of a decision by the arbitral tribunal to accept the precautionary measures, and to suspend the decision to prevent registration until the final decision in this case is issued.”

The recently promoted club of the “Roushen” league competition can sign new players in the upcoming transfer market, to strengthen the team’s ranks.
