They come from all over France to attend the first date of his event tour. About forty fans of Mylène Farmer take turns in front of the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, some for almost a month, for her concert which will take place on Saturday evening. We went to meet them.

Some are sitting on folding chairs, others are lying on their sleeping bags. This Tuesday, under the bright sun which lights up the forecourt of the Decathlon Arena Stade Pierre-Mauroy, they await with great impatience the return of their idol on stage. Because it is in Lille that Mylène Farmer will launch her big stadium tour, the “Nevermore Tour 2023”. Kickoff of the show: Saturday evening at 9:30 p.m.

Nathalie arrived last Friday, more than a week before the show: “On is in the gold pit, but to be right in front of the barrier, to be as close as possible to Mylène, you have to arrive as soon as possible“, she explains, “and also because the first date of the tour is super important.” This “lifelong fan” made the trip from Montpellier: “she’s truly an exceptional artist and if there’s anyone you have to see on stage, it’s Mylène Farmer. I know that she has some very nice surprises in store for us. She’s going to be on top, she’s always on top Mylène“, enthuses Nathalie, who therefore booked a hotel room for a week just in front of the stadium.

This crazy passion for the most famous red-haired singer in France, they are about forty to share it at the foot of the Pierre-Mauroy stadium. Some have been there since May 1. And everyone is unanimous: Mylène Farmer is THE must-see French singer on stage: “it’s the only one to do American-style shows. Before, there was also the great Johnny Hallyday. Today, only Mylène remains“, says Natalie. His only regret: only being able to attend the first and last dates of the tour.

The nights before each concert, we have no accommodation, we camp with our tent in front of the entrance to the stadium.

Corentin and Camille will attend all 13 concerts of the Nevermore Tour. “A dream forever“, for these two 22-year-old students from Limoges. To do this, they took a tent, sleeping bags and a stove in their car: “In fact, we booked Airbnbs in all cities on the tour. But the nights before each concert, we have no accommodation, we camp with our tent in front of the stadium entrance“, admits Corentin, “ça represents a certain budget but we give ourselves the means. It’s been two years that we put money aside to follow this tour“.

And like all fans of Mylène Farmer, they are already imagining their ideal setlist: “we hope for old songs, hits, but also songs that have been a little forgotten, put aside over the years. In any case, we know that Mylène will make the perfect setlist.”
