Books – Mahmoud Saeed:

The Public Prosecution confirmed that the woman accused of killing her child in Faqous proved that she does not suffer from any psychological or mental disorder, and therefore ordered her to be referred to the Criminal Court.

The Public Prosecution stated in a statement today, Monday, that it had submitted the accused, Hana Muhammad Hassan, to the felonies to punish her for what was attributed to her of committing the felony of premeditatedly killing her five-year-old son, after the investigations concluded that she intended to kill him for fear that her divorced one would keep him away from her. Driven by her constant desire to monopolize him and her constant clinging to hide him from people, as she prepared to kill him an ax stick that was in her dwelling, closed his windows, and isolated him, taking advantage of his reassurance to her, and his stillness in her presence, so she ignored him and rained down on his head with three blows, killing him, then in order to try to hide the traces of her crime, she cut off his body to pieces to hide it, and was arrested before it could be buried.

Since the beginning of the investigations, the Public Prosecution has been keen to investigate the truth about the accused’s motives for killing her son and mutilating his body in an unprecedented manner that Egyptian society had not witnessed before. Numerous accurate and frequent investigation procedures led to her committing the incident with sound awareness and perception, fond of the desire to possess him and prevent her divorced person and his family from mixing with him, or pursue her with the right to see him.

As the Public Prosecution Office did not rely on its detailed admissions of the commission of the crime in establishing evidence before it, but rather verified the validity of those declarations and the validity of attributing the accusation against it from the testimony of sixteen witnesses, and what it found during the examination of the crime scene and what it found in it of the remains of the dead body, the tools and effects of the crime, and what it found. It was proven by the reports of the Forensic Medicine Authority, which confirmed the ratio of body parts to the murderer genetically, and the percentage of blood found on her clothes to the dead man, and also proved the permissibility of the occurrence of the incident as admitted by the accused, and using the tools that were seized, as well as the reports proved that she did not use any narcotic substances and that the seized drugs were empty in her residence. Which affects mental or nervous health.

What definitively determined the mental and psychological integrity of the accused and her responsibility for committing the crime was what was proven in the report issued by the Department of Forensic Psychiatry of the Regional Council for Mental Health, that she did not suffer, neither at the time of the examination nor at the time of the commission of the crime, from any psychological or mental disorder that makes her lose or lack awareness, choice, and knowing the error from Correctness, discernment and proper judgment on matters, which makes her fully responsible for the crime she committed.

In its statement, the Public Prosecution praised the commitment of disciplined media institutions to their position on this issue during their investigations, in terms of investigating the truth in their reports about it by referring to the results of the investigations, and what the Public Prosecution announces of them, and not drifting towards other positions issued by a small group that tried to exploit the ugliness of the crime and the rarity of its occurrence to increase the masses of viewers. And the followers, in order to achieve specific goals and objectives, are far from being keen on the public interest and social security, confirming that legal measures were taken against some of them because their actions constituted punishable crimes.
