Apple announced the closure of its free service to save photos, “My Photo Stream”, on July 26, provided that users can stop storing photos on the service on June 26.
And Apple stated, according to an official statement, that all photos kept by users of “My Photo Stream” will be synced with the “iCloud” service by June 26 and will remain available for a month, during which the user can download them to one of his devices.
And Apple called on users to rely on the iCloud Photo storage service, which is an alternative to its service, which is about to close forever.
Apple explained the steps to be followed to download photos from “My Photo Stream” on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices, which is to enter the Photos application and then click on the Albums option, and then enter the My Photo Stream folder, and then The user selects all the images that he wants to download to his device, and presses Save Image.
For Mac computers, the user will have to open the Photos application and then choose My Photo Stream, and from there the user will have to choose all the photos that he wants to store, and drag them all Drag & Drop to the Library storage folder.
Apple stressed the need to run the iCloud Photo service on iPhones running iOS 8.3 or later, iPad tablets running iPadOS 8.3 or later, as well as Mac computers running macOS X Yosemite or later.
After turning on iCloud Photos, Apple allowed the user to easily browse his photos on iPhones, iPads, Macs, as well as Apple TV and the iCloud website, and he will also have the ability to sync photos on Windows computers also via iCloud for Windows.
