Chennai: Karthik Chennai (R. Karthikeyan-55), who worked as a liaison officer in Malayalam cinema for three decades, passed away. Lijo Jose Pellissery-Mohanlal’s ‘Malaikottai Valiban’ shooting location at Thiruvannamalai Senchi suffered a heart attack on Monday morning near Puducherry while returning to Chennai.
A native of Tirunelveli Chenkota, Karthik has been in Malayalam cinema since 1987. It started with the Seven Arts construction company. Later worked with many production controllers. Subsequently, Malayalam filmmakers started entrusting Karthik with all the necessary matters related to Malayalam film production in Chennai. Karthik has worked as a liaison officer in more than 200 Malayalam films. He is a member of the Production Executive Union at FEFCA. Wife: Lata. Children: Preeti, Subhashini. Funeral on Tuesday at 10.30 am at Porur Crematorium
