“Syria Works to Build Direct Political Ties with Allies in Lebanon”

Well-informed sources said, “Syria has been communicating for some time periodically with some of the figures and deputies allied with it in Lebanon in order to coordinate their political movements.”
According to the sources, “Damascus wants to restore the prestige of its allies and build a political and parliamentary assembly that is directly close to it and not to its ally, Hezbollah.”

The sources consider that “the last stage witnessed an intensification of coordination between Damascus and these allies, and periodic meetings are taking place far from the media in Syria.”
