After a day full of catching oysters on the mudflats, walking through the dunes and doing some shopping for dinner, Jort and Art are in the kitchen of the multimillion-dollar villa of the former editor-in-chief of Quote. With a view of the sea, the – somewhat uncomfortable – theme of love passes by. A subject that Jort does not often talk about in the media, but now he makes an exception.
In the past, Jort had relationships with both unknown and well-known ladies. For example, he had a good time with Georgina Verbaan and Lauren Verster for a long time. Both ladies have now started a family, something he himself does not aspire to: “I have never been jealous of people with children. All that shouting around you all day long.” He did think about fatherhood at some point: “Of course, in relationships you think about that. It never got any further than thinking about it and that’s fine. I wouldn’t be the best father either, I think.”

When asked if the presenter of Op1 looking for a new love he replies: “There are moments you would like to share. All the highs and lows I process all alone.” There has been speculation in the media about a possible fling between fellowOp1-presenter Welmoed Sijtsma and him: “She is very nice and enchanting, but no, I am almost the same age as her father. That would make for a remarkable Christmas dinner.”
It is not the case that Jort does not get any attention from the women: “It is striking that when you are known, messages come in faster via social media. I responded to such a message once. If she came here on the island , it always failed.” The door to love remains open: “If I would like someone, that is possible, I do not exclude anything. For now I am alone and I am happy with that.”
