The round of 16 of the 2023 U-20 World Cup will take place over three days from 31 May – 2 June 2023. There will be two to four matches each day.
A total of 16 teams that will qualify from the group phase are taken from two different paths. The first path uses a top two team system from a total of six groups. The other four slots were taken from the best third place from all existing groups.
The round of 16 of the 2023 U-20 World Cup will only be played over one leg. The winner of each match will go straight to the quarter-finals.
