The transparent engine with chrome-plated components offers a great mechanical show.
The new Nissan Z, already the seventh generation of the sports model with the letter Z in its name, has unfortunately not arrived on European markets. Well, at least not in an official way. In addition, it is said that his deliveries to the American market are also tied up. However, its fans can now enjoy at least an unusual look at its powertrain.
Nissan 400 Z transparent engine
This is the 3.0-liter twin-turbo turbocharged flat-six, internally designated VR30DDTT, which first appeared in the Infniti Q50. In the Nissan Z model, it offers the highest output of 298 kW (405 hp) and 475 Nm of torque. A six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission takes care of power transmission to the rear wheels.
It was this engine that Nissan’s prototyping specialists made from a transparent block of clear resin. The internal components of the engine were then chromed or painted so that their movement could be clearly seen.
The result is a great spectacle that shows the movement of the pistons, valves, cams, crankshaft, distribution boards and there is also a view of the turbocharger. At the same time, the entire engine looks like a technical work of art.
First information on the Nissan 400 Z Nismo
Regarding the Nissan Z itself, we can recall the rumors according to which the automaker is preparing an even more powerful version. According to spy photographers, the new model should have a different nose with a split grille, larger side skirts or larger brakes. If confirmed to be a Nismo model, a power boost is also expected.
