The role was the only one in his filmography.
Dmitry Malikov built a successful musical career: he took place both as a singer and as a producer. But few people know that on his account there is one appearance in the cinema, which remained almost unnoticed.
The actor starred in the film “See Paris and Die”, released in 1992. The film takes place in the 60s. A single mother lives with her son, a pianist, and wants him to get to Paris for the competition. But the heroine hides a dangerous family secret: she is Jewish, and the father of her offspring is a prisoner.
The young gifted pianist Yura was played by Malikov. He coped well with the task, but many did not like that the main role went to the musician, not the actor. In fact, Dmitry played himself and did not bring anything new and remarkable to his usual image.
Also, the audience was outraged that the pianist sported his signature hairstyle from the 80s, although such hair in the 60s was unthinkable. This and a host of other controversies made the film passable and weak, in the opinion of many. But, of course, the tape also has ardent fans who think otherwise.
