Obviously, Moscow doesn’t like the news at all, but it makes families and businesses happy, as well as governments, which have had to support the price increases with aid for bills. And Repubblica calculates the savings to come: “If the current trend were to continue, the lower costs for the average Italian family could be between 800 and 1,200 euros in 2023, according to the calculations of some operators, putting together both expense for both electricity and gas bills”.

The lower cost of your bills will depend on the general economic situation and how cold it will be next winter. And in the meantime, on 4 June the Arera will set the new tariffs for raw materials, making it clear how much they will pay in May, with figures that are far from those of 2022: “electricity increased by 109.5% last year, with an extra cost of 58.9 billion, gas rose by 126.4%, with an additional expense of 32.6 billion”, according to calculations reported by the newspaper.
