“Government-subsidized Electric Motorbikes in Jakarta: Challenges and Verification Process”

Jakarta

Buyers of government-subsidized electric motorbikes are said to be quiet. Polytron agrees with this, currently only dozens of consumer data units have passed verification as recipients.

“So far we have only filled 31 names,” said Commercial Director of Polytron, Tekno Wibowo.

One of the obstacles is the waiting time of up to 1.5 months. He said dealers were reluctant to use bailout funds because they were worried about disbursing compensation or old restitution.

“Verification was carried out by Surveyor Indonesia through the Sisipira application built by the Ministry of Industry. So it is our job as manufacturers to ensure that their motorcycle products are eligible for (subsidy conditions). From the dealer side, register and ensure that they pass verification as dealers who can access Sicipira,” explained Tekno.

“From the dealer side, there are objections to bail out subsidies before the government reimburses them through Himbara,” explained Tekno.

Requirements for recipients of subsidies include recipients of KUR (People’s Business Credit), recipients of Micro Business Productive Assistance (BUPM), recipients of wage subsidy assistance, and recipients of electricity subsidies up to 900 VA. To find out if the consumer meets the requirements, a NIK check will be carried out on the Sisipira website.

Dadang, one of the residents who was interested in the Rp. 7 million subsidy program for electric motorbikes provided by the government. He visited one of the electric motorbike showrooms that received the subsidy in the Cikupa area, Tangerang.

“When I was there, the info from sales was that there were 10 interested people whose data had been sent for about a month, and they still couldn’t be verified, it really took 1.5 months,” said Dadang.

Dadang said that participating in the electric motorbike subsidy program does not only need an ID card. He said he needed to prepare a down payment of IDR 1 million. However, even though you have deposited the DP, the data may not meet the requirements for receiving an electric motorbike subsidy.

“For a DP of 1 million, if the acc (received) can be subsidized, continue the next process. If not, the DP is Rp. 1 million, an admin fee of Rp. 100,000 will be deducted. How long will the remaining Rp. 900,000 be returned to us, I did not ask,” added he.

Dadang finally abandoned his intention to propose to the electric motorbike program. He said that 1.5 months of data verification was too long. However, Tekno said that there are separate reasons for requiring a DP to purchase subsidized electric motorbikes.

“There will be a lot of people who want to ask for a NIK check according to the criteria. So we filter it that way so that only those who meet the criteria and intend to buy the checked motorbike,” he said.
