“Influencer Dies after Live Drinking Contest on TikTok”

He was found dead hours after showing himself competing with another influencer

An internet influencer has died shortly after a live broadcast showing him downing several bottles of strong alcohol. The footage was broadcast on China’s TikTok.

Influencer Sanqianji (or “Brother 3000”) was found dead hours after he was shown competing with another influencer in a drinking competition with baijiu, a strong Chinese alcoholic drink similar to vodka, CNN reports.

The victim, whose real name is Wong, took part in a challenge known as PK against another influencer in the early hours of May 16. He broadcast the binge live on his Douyin channel.

PK is a challenge that is a duel between influencers, where the winner wins prizes and gifts from the viewers, and the loser is often punished. In this case, the punishment was drinking baijiu.

“I don’t know how much he had drunk before, but when I turned on I saw him drink three bottles and start a fourth,” said a friend of the deceased.

“The PK games ended at 1 am and by 1 pm (when he was discovered by his family) he had died,” he adds.

Wong has repeatedly participated in similar competitions involving alcohol and posted videos on the web.
