A visionary project that is probably unique in Europe is to become reality on Rosmart – on up to 4000 square meters.
Lüdenscheid – In the near future, transport drones could take off and land at their own “airport” in the Rosmart business park.
According to Holger Moeser from the business development department of the city of Lüdenscheid, a large area on Rosmarter Allee is reserved for the future airport and the control center of the drone logistics service of the KL Group / Koerschulte + Werkverein.
On Thursday, Holger Moeser informed the City of Lüdenscheid’s Committee for Investments, Financial Development and Administrative Modernization about the current marketing status of the Rosmart business park.
Final approvals are obtained
Koerschulte’s plans to set up Germany’s first air station for a drone delivery service in Rosmart are currently well advanced. The Koerschulte project could be implemented on an area of 3,000 to 4,000 square meters in the area behind Elbik Stanztechnik GmbH on Rosmarter Allee.
“You can imagine the whole thing as familiar from NASA spaceports with rocket launches: the drones are controlled and monitored from the port’s own control center,” explains Holger Moeser. As far as he knows, the preliminary planning at Koerschulte is already extremely advanced: “Koerschulte is currently in the process of obtaining the final approvals for the project from the Federal Aviation Authority.” The management of MGR GmbH is proud of the fact that the innovative Koerschulte project will be implemented in the region, not in Berlin or at other locations in Germany.
Discussions on the marketing of two additional areas in the industrial park are also not yet ready for a decision, but are nevertheless making good progress. Good progress has already been made in the negotiations with an unspecified commercial area. When marketing another, there is an interested party.
A45 closure does not discourage interest in settlements
As Holger Moeser emphasizes, neither the corona pandemic nor the situation around the Rahmedetalbrücke have inhibited companies’ interest in settling at the location. “Companies looking to invest in Rosmart plan for the long term. Current crises play less of a role,” says Moeser.
