The German School of Chillán was the best regional school, within the framework of a new version of the Preparatory Interscholastic Tournament organized by the Santiago Athletic Club.
In women, out of a total of 112 participating schools, the German School of Chillán Colegio was ranked 15th. This allowed them to be recognized as the “Best School in the Regions” with the 42 points obtained as a team.
The contest brought together more than 100 schools throughout the country that compete from the preparatory to higher category seeking to be at the top.
Among the most outstanding results it is worth mentioning:
Rosario Canahuate, athlete who was crowned Interscholastic champion in the 80-meter dash, children’s category.
Rosario Cordero obtained third place in the pole vault event and second place in the high jump, in the superior category.
For her part, Isidora Ruiz, obtained second place in the shot put, in the intermediate category.
Meanwhile, the men’s intermediate category 4×100 relay, took third overall place in the event.

Other athletes from Chillana who shone with their own lights in the national competition were Juan Pablo Torrealba, who won the gold medal in the 80-meter hurdles event, children’s category, and Martina Mejías, who was third in the high jump event.
Both athletes belong to the ranks of the Pedre Hurtado School and Club Atléticos Quilamapu, whose coach is Emiliano del Pino, who in recent years has forged outstanding jumpers in the Ñuble Region.
