JP Morgan to Lay Off 500 Employees Focusing on Technology and Operations Division

A JP Morgan spokesman told CNN on Friday that the bank will lay off about 500 employees this week.

CNBC revealed for the first time that JPMorgan is laying off employees, while the bank announced that it will focus mostly on its technology and operations divisions.

For his part, a spokesman for “JP Morgan” stated that he regularly reviews his business and the needs of customers, and continues to employ in other regions, as the bank has more than 13 thousand job opportunities, and employs about 300 thousand people.

This comes just one day after JPMorgan announced the layoff of 1,000 employees at First Republic Bank.

JPMorgan acquired most of the First Republic earlier this month, following the government’s takeover of the San Francisco Regional Bank, in the second-largest banking failure in US history.
