“Remembering Guna Balode: A Tribute to the Late Latvian Television Director”

Guna Balode, one of the most outstanding directors of Latvian Television, passed away on May 24, her family announced on Facebook.

All her life, her place of work has been Latvian television, where Gunas Balodes directed television productions, portrait programs of artists and actors, and other works.

Her childhood is closely related to the history of Latvian ballet, as both parents were ballet soloists in the Latvian National Opera. Guna Balode left her memories and her mother’s ballet dancer Austras Miļeviča’s diary to history, publishing the book “Birds born in a moment” (publishing house “Jumava”, 2015. ).

Farewell to Guna Balode will be held on Tuesday, May 30 at 11:00 a.m. In the first forest cemetery.
