The number of “official” electric vehicles on the Ukrainian market is growing, which are presented in dealer showrooms, but most of the “green” cars enter Ukraine in a “gray” way – through small companies or individuals who privately bring such cars from the EU, China, USA both new and used in other countries.
Advantages and disadvantages of electric vehicles
The growing popularity of electric vehicles in Ukraine is associated with their main advantages – low cost of operation and almost complete absence of the need for service in comparison with cars with internal combustion engines, quiet operation, and less pressure on the environment.
Electric vehicles are not without drawbacks. Among the key ones are a modest power reserve on a single charge compared to gasoline and diesel cars, a long time to replenish the spent energy (charge), the inability to take electricity with you, which would increase the power reserve, high cost compared to classmates who are equipped with internal combustion engines.

Crossover Volkswagen ID.4 has been the most popular electric car in Ukraine for several months. The secret of popularity is simple: large dimensions, a well-known brand, and a “crossover” body type is in trend. Depending on the configuration, “ID” is rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, respectively, with one or two electric motors. They also differ in power. Also for the car there are several battery options in terms of capacity, which affects the power reserve.
The basic version of Volkswagen is equipped with a 109-horsepower electric motor, which is mounted on the rear axle, and its options for 125, 128 and 150 horsepower are also available. The twin-engine version develops 220 hp. With. Depending on the size of the battery, the range of the crossover varies between 35-520 km. Volkswagen ID.4 is not officially represented in Ukraine. On various trading platforms, prices for new copies start at $31,000.

The Nissan Leaf electric hatchback ranks second in popularity among Ukrainians in the first quarter of 2023. It should be noted that the second generation Leaf is the only electric car from our rating, which is officially presented in Ukraine. Honda X-NV is the fruit of a joint collaboration between the Japanese automaker and the Chinese company Dongfeng. Accordingly, the model is produced in China. The electric crossover is built on the basis of the Honda HR-V gasoline model. The model is available with one power plant option – a 163 hp engine. and a traction battery that provides a power reserve of 405-465 km on a single charge.

Elon Musk’s smaller electric car was unveiled in 2017. Despite its modest size, even the basic version has a range of 350 km and a 275 hp engine. In total, there are six modifications on the market, including rear- and all-wheel drive options with a capacity of up to 510 hp. and a range of up to 500 km.
It is worth noting that most of the Model 3 on our market are models that have been in an accident in the USA or other countries, and after a different level of repair, we sell them restored.
