The USO cabin crew union has called a strike every week between August 8 and January 7, 2023. The stoppages will be from Monday to Thursday and are carried out as a pressure measure to negotiate with the company.
The airline’s cabin crew have already called two strikes in July, the first being from 12 to 15 and 18 to 21 of this month, while the second takes place this week. The strikes have led multitude of canceled flights, delays and incidents in the places where Ryanair operates: Madrid, Malaga, Seville, Alicante, Valencia, Barcelona, Girona, Santiago de Compostela, Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca.
The general secretary of USO at Ryanair, Lidia Arasanz, assured that they were “forced” to call new days of strike again due to the “impassibility” of the company for not listening to its workers and preferring to leave thousands of passengers on the ground ” before sit down to negotiate an agreement under Spanish law“.
“Not only is it worth sitting down at the negotiating table again, but it goes further. We are talking about the fact that we have 11 workers fired and more than 100 on file for exercising a fundamental right and we have already said that we are not going to leave any worker behind,” added Arasanz.
