According to him, the uprising continues on the territory of the Belgorod region and is gaining momentum and scale. Some villages located near the border with Ukraine have already been abandoned by the Russian authorities.

At the same time, the GUR did not specify which settlements it was talking about.

“There are several villages on the border, from which the Russian authorities have actually left. In principle, there is not a single government there now,” Yusov said.

He added that representatives of the rebels and the resistance movement “are now actively operating, including in the capital region.”

Ukrainian intelligence adds that so far there are no serious clashes and battles between Russian rebels in the Belgorod region and regular troops, and “we will see him later,” since Russian dictator Vladimir Putin still keeps the main forces of the RF VR in Ukraine as an occupying contingent.

Yusov added that the operation of the RDK and LSR showed the whole world that “the king is naked”, the Kremlin regime is exhausted and cannot organize the defense of its borders, and meanwhile “the uprising is only gaining momentum and scale”

Operation in the Belgorod region

On May 22, representatives of the Legion “Freedom of Russia” and the “Russian Volunteer Corps”, who are fighting on the side of Ukraine, announced the start of an operation in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation with the aim of “fighting for freedom from Putin’s power” and creating a demilitarized zone near the border with Ukraine.

As informed in the GUR, the operation is carried out exclusively by citizens of the Russian Federation.

Then the local authorities announced the regime of the counter-terrorist operation, but the very next day it was canceled, although the RDK and LSR did not withdraw from the territory of the region.
