According to new figures published by the FSO, more than two thirds of large Swiss companies have an IT security manager. The function is twice less frequent in small structures.
The Federal Statistical Office has published several indicators concerning the information society in Switzerland. We learn in particular that the share of IT specialists in the active population is progressing slowly. In 2022, 5.7% of workers were IT specialists compared to 4.7% ten years earlier. While it remains very low (around 15%), the proportion of women in these professions is also growing.
With regard to cybersecurity, FSO statistics indicate that one in three Swiss companies had a person in charge of the subject in 2021. Unsurprisingly, large organizations are twice as likely as small ones to have developed such a function.
