Jakarta –
Juergen Klopp admit this season is not good for Liverpool having failed to finish in the top four in the Premier League. However, Klopp remains optimistic about next season.
Liverpool are certain to finish outside the top four after Manchester United’s win over Chelsea. With one match remaining, the Reds are certain to finish fifth.
Liverpool have been inconsistent in the Premier League this season. Even though they were speeding lately, a series of positive results in the last few matches were still not enough to bring Liverpool into the top four.
Juergen Klopp admits Liverpool have lacked consistency. However, Klopp believes Liverpool have a good future.
“It’s been a long time obviously not going to be a good season. We’re not happy. We made mistakes, we weren’t consistent enough,” Klopp said as reported by Sky Sports.
“The number of points we have collected since the World Cup is quite a lot and if we had done that all season we would have been in a different position.”
“Of course there is reason to be optimistic. We have another reason to be optimistic, the atmosphere our people created after the last home game. All these things are definitely the basis for a great future.”
“We don’t need to make a big deal out of it. It’s football season. We haven’t managed to give what people want and expect. But we are still united and that’s a positive.”
“If you can get through difficult moments like we did then that is a great foundation for a better future. I have many reasons to be optimistic,” he said.
