In commemoration of the National Organ Donation Day, this year the Ministry of Health of the Nation and the INCUCAI remember the importance of donating and will celebrate it under the motto #SomosDonantesas a symbol of an act that summons the community as a whole.
During the day, testimonials from relatives of people who were organ donors will be shared on social networks, allowing those waiting for a transplant to recover their health and improve their quality of life. There will also be testimonials from transplant recipients, members of the health system, and the community will be called to participate, inviting them to share their messages about the importance of donating.
On the occasion of the celebration of the Day in the month of May, activities will also be carried out in towns throughout the country in order to promote donation.

The Program for the Implementation of Hospital Units for Procurement of Organs and Tissues (UHPROT), which was approved by Resolution 3685/22 by the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, offers health institutions a tool aimed at building services that comprehensively develop procurement and transplant activity within hospitals, in order to provide a response to the more than 7,000 people who are waiting for an organ transplant and the 2,800 who are waiting for a corneal transplant.
INCUCAI promotes the implementation of the Program in stages, in national, provincial and municipal hospital establishments. Since the beginning of the Program in January this year, six hospitals have already signed a management commitment: the Julio C. Perrando Hospital (Chaco), the Emergency Hospital (Córdoba), the Alejandro Posadas National Hospital (Buenos Aires), the Municipal Eva Perón de Merlo (Buenos Aires), Hospital Escuela de Agudos Dr. Ramón Madariaga (Misiones) and Hospital Dr. Avelino Castelán (Chaco), the first pediatric hospital to join the program.
Carrying out each transplant is possible thanks to the participation of society, represented in the act of donating, the intervention of health professionals from hospitals throughout the country, and the work of the provincial procurement agencies belonging to to the Argentine health system.
