In this eleventh call, endowed with one million euros, the foundation will support projects in the areas of support for people with disabilities, job integration of young people at risk of social exclusion, help for children with health problems, development cooperation, initiatives to fight against gender violence and trafficking, and support for the population of Ukraine. The initiatives will benefit more than 20,500 people.
In the category of support for the people of UkraineJesús Casares received the recognition from the regional president for the San Josafat de Leganés center.
An endowment that is the only one in the south of the Community of Madrid destined to the reception of Ukrainian refugees. A center that was launched during the month of January 2023 and that was presented to the media on February 24 on the occasion of the first year of the start of the war in Ukraine.
This economic endowment will help a project aimed at hosting Ukrainian refugees fleeing the conflict in Eastern Europe. An amount that is added to those allocated by the Leganés City Council and other contributions from entities such as ANFEJO, SAONT GOBAN IDAPLA, Distriplac or Anaya. Without these collaborations, it would have been impossible to launch such a resource in such a short time.
Jesús Casares, director of Cáritas Diocesana de Getafe, wanted to thank this help «I want to thank the Mutua Madrileña Foundation for its firm commitment and support for social action throughout the twenty years of its creation. Thank you, because this help is recognition of a project that has involved a great effort for the Diocese of Getafe and for Cáritas in the south of Madrid. With this contribution we will be able to continue maintaining a resource with which we want to mitigate the wounds of all those Ukrainian people who are fleeing the barbarism of war”.
