Every Wednesday morning throughout the spring and summer, yoga enthusiasts pay $60 and gather 1,150 feet up to practice yoga as the sun rises over the Manhattan skyline.
“It’s very beautiful. You really feel like you’re on top of the world and you can feel this powerful energy,” says participant Aksana Kuzmitskaya.
The Equinox gym offers Sky High Yoga on the observation deck of the 30 Hudson Yards skyscraper.
At 100 stories, it is the highest viewing platform in the western hemisphere, according to the builders.
“I think it was very comforting. It was a nice way to relax and set my intentions for the morning and focus on what I have planned for the day and what my day is going to be like “, says yogi Kevin Lee.
Sky High Yoga was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic. Almost three years later, it’s still going strong, and tickets sell out weeks in advance.
“I think it works because it’s extremely unique,” says Nimisha Shinday, yoga teacher.
