Jakarta –
Residents held Elok Suciati, Head of Sidokepung Village, Buduran District, Sidoarjo, East Java (East Java). The residents locked the village head because they were not satisfied with the implementation of the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL).
Reported detikJatim, Friday (26/5/2023) the incident occurred from Tuesday (24/5) at 21.00 to Wednesday (25/5) around 03.00 WIB. This incident prompted the village to contact the police.
“It’s true, but they weren’t being held hostage, only residents locked the gate of the village hall,” said Buduran Police Chief Kompol Heri Setyo Susanto, Thursday (25/5/2023).
The village head and village officials could not go home because the residents locked them at the Sidokepung Village Hall. The confinement began when dozens of villagers asked about the completeness of the PTSL management requirements. However, the committee did not immediately provide a good explanation to the residents.
A resident named Hartono (43), said the confinement was because the residents were dissatisfied with the performance of the committee, village officials and the local village head regarding PTSL. Residents also padlocked the village hall fence.
“Because we were not satisfied with the committee’s answer. Then the residents contacted the village head. After the village head arrived at the village hall, he also did not give a satisfactory answer. So the residents spontaneously locked the gate of the village hall,” said Hartono.
