“Residents Evacuated from Nursing Home in Zaandam Due to Fire”

A group of residents has been evacuated due to a fire at a nursing home in Zaandam. According to the fire service, 30 to 40 people are involved. The fire is now out and the building has been ventilated by the emergency services.

Outdoor furniture was on fire outside the building. According to the fire service, so much smoke was released that it was decided to evacuate part of the Oostergouw nursing home.

Two employees of the nursing home suffered smoke inhalation during the evacuation and were taken to hospital for a check-up. The residents were taken care of in another room on the grounds of the nursing home.
